Spicebomb vs. Spicebomb Extreme

Viktor & Rolf Spicebomb vs. Spicebomb Extreme (2023) Full Review

Spicebomb vs. Spicebomb Extreme.

Some of the best winter fragrances for men.

This review will compare Spicebomb and Spicebomb Extreme. I will detail their smell, performance, and anything else you need to know. At the end, I will compare and contrast and let you know which is best for you.

Spicebomb vs. Spicebomb Extreme

Spicebomb

The original spicebomb opens with a blast of spices paired with a present citric duo of grapefruit and bergamot. The spices are equal parts pink pepper and cinnamon. The general idea is subtle yet intense warmth. The cinnamon will become increasingly dominant as the wear continues.

The citruses are only present in the initial blast. Into the mid, they fade and give way to a warm dose of saffron and slightly aromatic vetiver. It is more refined than the opening, making it more wearable as the spices aren’t so intense.

The dry down is simple. It’s all about warm spices, cinnamon being the most prominent. There are faint additions of tobacco and leather, but they aren’t as prominent as I thought. They sit behind the spices in the neighborhood of the citruses. This is what you’ll get for the rest of the wear.

This lasts six to seven hours on the skin with great projection. The first two to three hours are an arm’s length. After this period, it recedes and doesn’t become a skin scent until hour six. This is exclusively for fall and winter and all occasions.

Spicebomb Extreme

The opening is a big blast of spice and pepper but not aggressive. It will not be like putting your nose above a pepper shaker. A mild grapefruit note rests under the opening duo and calms down the spices. Still, the grapefruit isn’t memorable. Those are the first few minutes.

Some vanilla and tobacco are in the background but not yet prominent.

As the scent develops, cinnamon is present early on and will last for the rest of the wear. Over time, it gains other warm spices, but none are as prevalent as cinnamon.

Once in the dry down, it is all about the dominant tobacco note with a dark, rich, sweet vanilla. This duo dominates with warm spices sprinkled on top for the rest of the wear. As the scent finishes, it highlights its smooth, creamy texture with a deep ambery base.

This lasts 12+ hours on the skin with near room-filling projection, pushing out four to five feet for the first few hours before receding. This is fall and winter wear for all occasions.

Final Words

Let’s talk about how the scent and smell compare. The opening of the original has a much more citric nature, while Spicebomb Extreme is sweeter and more tobacco-based from the start. Other than this aspect, they head in similar directions for the rest of the wear.

The performance is the biggest difference between the two fragrances. The original Spicebomb lasts half as long as the Extreme version with lighter projection.

After you try both Spicebomb and Spicebomb Extreme, I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments.
