La Nuit de L’Homme L’Intense.
Is this a better performer than the original?
YSL La Nuit de L’Homme L’Intense was released in 2015. It is based on violet, iris, sage, and vanilla. It lasts three to four hours on the skin with intimate projection. In this review, I will describe its smell and performance and if it’s worth it.

What Does YSL La Nuit de L’homme L’Intense Smell Like?
A sweet and powdery iris and violet combination lead the opening. The first few minutes are all about the violet with its candy-like sweetness. Within a few minutes comes dark and earthy patchouli with sage spice.
In the original, it’s all about cardamom, but the L’Intense version is not so spice-dominate, nor does it have cardamom. As the scent develops, the iris strengthens, pushing violet into the backseat.
The dry-down finishes with a hefty dose of iris and a semi-sweet vanilla and tonka bean combination. In the background are faint wafts of violet and earthy patchouli.

Performance
Despite the name, the fragrance didn’t get stronger or keep the same scent profile. The longevity is in the three to four range with intimate projection. The entire wear only pushes out a few inches. It makes it great for dates but struggles in all other situations.
The sillage is no better. You can do jumping jacks and douse yourself in L’Intense, and the scent trail will be minimal. This performance is with five sprays. Yet, don’t be afraid to overspray with this one.
This is fall, winter, and early spring wear. It is similar to the original as its spices get too intense with the heat. As for occasions, it is exclusively for dates as the projection is so subtle.
The mass appeal and likability are average. The violet in the opening is actually so intense that it’s decisive. Some despise the powdery and floral nature. It’s never feminine but certainly floral. Lastly, the uniqueness is above average. Not many fragrances have the same floral and vanilla mixture.
Final Words
The final burning question is, is YSL La Nuit de L’Homme L’Intense worth it? No. I don’t recommend this to anyone. It has horrible performance, and the scent profile is nothing special. The original La Nuit de L’Homme is by far the better fragrance.
