What Does Parfums de marly Pegasus Smell Like?
A lot is going on in the opening. Almond and vanilla accords with floral accents are the most prominent. In the background are fleeting wafts of citruses and spice from the bergamot.
It has a metallic nature in the beginning. The citrus and floral combination has a cleaning wipe scent for the first 15 minutes. It isn’t so bad that it’s off-putting, but it doesn’t smell the greatest.
The heart of the fragrance starts to develop 15 – 20 minutes into the wear. The vanilla becomes sweeter and pushes the citruses and florals into the background.
After about an hour, it is fully developed and has an equally strong nutty almond note.
As the scent develops, Pegasus transcends into a creamy almond and vanilla dry-down. The almond retains its nutty and slight woody accents. At the same time, the vanilla becomes more powdery than sweet.
The rest of the wear is an almond and vanilla combination. The almond note is the strongest.

Pegasus Performance
How Long Does PDM Pegasus Last?
The performance is above average. It lasts ten hours on the skin and has excellent projection. It pushes out multiple feet with a long, dense sillage for up to six hours.
After this period, it recedes closer to the skin, never becoming a skin scent.
When Should You Wear PDM Pegasus?
Pegasus has three season wearability: spring, fall, and winter. It is heavy enough to last on cold days but not so thick that it becomes overpowering on the warmer days of spring.
As for occasions, it is suitable for all.
There’s a general theme with Parfums de Marly fragrances. They are all ultra-wearable. Pegasus has the class to shine for a formal occasion and the wearability for the office or running errands.
Is PDM Pegasus Unique?
The one aspect it is not particularly strong in is its “sex appeal.” It doesn’t have that contagious attraction that some other date scents have.
If you’re trying to leave a good first impression as a gentleman. This is great for a date. However, for turning heads attraction, there are better choices.
Pegasus is a unique fragrance. Its most memorable aspect is its quality and blend of notes.
Is Parfums de Marly Pegasus Worth It?
It has a pleasant dry-down, above-average performance, and great versatility. However, the opening isn’t anything to write home about. A 125mL bottle is selling for about $275.
Considering the pros, cons, and price. Besuited Aroma believes Pegasus is neutral to overpriced.

Presentation
The current sample I am reviewing was bought from Parfums de Marly’s website. It is one of seven in their men’s discovery set. These are seven 1.5mL bottles of their most popular colognes.
Shown below are the box and bottle of Parfums de Marly Pegasus. The bottle is entirely silver with a matte finish. The box is black with matching silver stripes. The batch code should be on the bottom of both the box and bottle.
History
Parfums de Marly’s brand was founded in 1743 in France. You can say they have experience, to say the least.
From Parfums de Marly, “Each fragrance has its own olfactory signature, developed from a palette of noble ingredients. The splendor of the 18th century through a prism of modern vision.”
Pegasus was released in 2011 and created by Hamid Merati-Kashani. Pegasus has one flanker known as “Pegasus Exclusif.” It is a very similar aroma but has a heavier wood accord and more of a warm sensation on the skin rather than a cooling one.
