How Does Xerjoff Describe It?

Here is the product description, “This classically Italian scent is a bright and brilliant breath of fresh air. Grounding base notes of tobacco leaf, tonka, and vanilla beans add an earthy, woody undertone.”

What Does Xerjoff Naxos Smell Like?

The first spray is an authentic sweet honey note with bright and clean citrus. Bergamot is the most prominent. It contributes an authentic aroma but lacks its tart nature.

In the background, lavender nuances lend clean accents rather than floral ones.

As the first few minutes wear on, the lavender note comes out to play more and more. Yet, it is never overpowering. The defined citrus notes fade into the scent’s fresh accents.

The sweetness of honey washes over the opening as Naxos transcends into the heart. It brings a decent dose of cinnamon, playing second fiddle in the background.

After the first couple of hours, the bergamot and honey lose their strength. It’s now time for the tobacco note to shine. When it starts picking up strength, it comes across as slightly harsh.

Yet, quickly gets tamed by the calming aura of top notes.

Tobacco, dusty vanilla, and wafts of spice lead the dry down. This trio mixes and mingles for some time. One last addition of tonka bean places emphasis on the vanillic nature.

This is the combination of notes for the rest of the wear. When it comes down to it, this is one of the best tobacco fragrances for men.

Performance

So, now you know the most important part of the fragrance. Let’s talk about the second. You don’t mention Naxos without talking about its stellar performance.

Is Xerjoff Naxos Long Lasting?

This is the type of cologne that you can apply for work, and it’s still present for date night. It lasts 10 -12 hours on the skin and has excellent projection.

It pushes out multiple feet for hours, then recedes closer to the skin but never becomes a skin scent.

When Should You Wear Xerjoff Naxos?

Speaking of date night, how versatile is Naxos? It can be worn for all occasions and seasons except summer. It is more of a special occasion/formal fragrance. However, the quality and blend of notes are so good that, in moderation, it can be used for other events.

If you’re in a four-season climate, you’ll likely be able to get 7-8 months of wear out of this.

Is Xerjoff Naxos Unique?

One of my favorite aspects of Naxos is its uniqueness. It has honey, tobacco, and vanilla notes, which are all familiar. However, Xerjoff blends them in such a way they feel unique. It’s not a 1:1, but it definitely stands out.

This uniqueness translates to its extreme likability. One member in the fragrance Facebook group I am a part of made a joke: “What is your favorite Xerjoff, and why is it Naxos?” This speaks to its intense love among the fragrance community.

*Unfortunately, I can’t find the individual who made the joke, so I can’t give them a shoutout.

Is Xerjoff Naxos Worth It?

Yes. It has excellent performance, a unique smell, and decent versatility. It is a pricey fragrance at about $260 for a 100mL bottle. However, this price point is the norm for fragrances of this quality.

In short, Besuited Aroma recommends Xerjoff Naxos.

Besuited Aroma gives Xerjoff Naxos a rating of 9.1 out of 10.

How Do People Rate Xerjoff Naxos?

Don’t just trust me; what do the masses think? This information is pulled from fragrantica.com. Providing a general estimate of what others think.

At the time of writing, Naxos has 4,871 votes with a rating of 4.50 stars out of 5. Based on the cost-for-value metric, it is rated as neutral.

Here are the top three pros and cons:

PROS

  • Smooth quality fragrance
  • Nice blend of lavender, bergamot, and honey
  • The packaging feels like quality

CONS

  • May be too potent for some noses
  • More masculine than expected
  • Too sweet and unrelenting for some noses

I will note that none of the cons were highly rated. They all had more downvotes than upvotes.

Presentation

The current sample I am reviewing was bought from Xerjoff’s official website. It was included in their sample kit. It is one of four 2mL bottles that they sent. The total cost for the sample box was about $37 with shipping.

Shown below is a box and bottle from Xerjoff’s website. The bottle is clear glass with the logo on the front. You can see the juice in the bottle. The box is purple with the logo on top and ingredients on the bottom.

The batch code will be on the bottom of both the box and bottle.

History

From Xerjoff, “Founded in 2006, the Xerjoff brand was launched by Sergio Momo with the aim of blending the most luxurious materials to complement the most affluent global lifestyles through the combination of old-world craftsmanship, rare raw materials, and a contemporary artistic sensibility.”

Naxos was released in 2015 and quickly grew in popularity. Currently, it is one of a kind for the brand, as there are no flankers.

My Experience with Xerjoff Naxos

There is nothing better than the smell and quality of Naxos. I particularly enjoy the masculine tobacco note smoothed out by honey. For some, this could be a decisive combination, but here, it comes across as mass-appealing.

Don’t forget Naxos’s wearability. When I first looked at the notes, I thought, “Ugh! Another exclusive winter wear.” However, I was pleasantly surprised when I discovered that it is almost all year-round wear.

In short, I’m impressed with the ability of Xerjoff to create a unique, mass-appealing, and versatile fragrance. These traits are something you don’t often see together.
