Prada Luna Rossa Carbon Full Review – Why You Need It

Luna Rossa Carbon.

An underrated attention magnet.

Prada Luna Rossa Carbon is a men’s fragrance released in 2017. It is based on fresh spices, lavender, and ambroxan. It lasts eight hours on the skin with gentlemanly projection.

In this review, I will describe its smell and performance and if it’s worth it.

What Does Prada Luna Rossa Carbon Smell Like?

Ambroxan, bergamot, and lavender lead the opening.

The bergamot is the strongest in the first 5 minutes and fades into the background. Ambroxan has a slight metallic nature and will retain this tone for the rest of the wear.

I particularly enjoy this. The citrus contrasts nicely with the more “abrasive” pepper and metallic tone. Yet, don’t worry; neither is overpowering. Into the mid, lavender gains strength and brings a shaving cream aroma.

It is not a 1:1 comparison, but the key here is that it is exceptionally clean. For a large portion of the scent, it is the focal point.

Lavender is retained into the dry down, along with dominant ambroxan. Both work hand in hand to provide a mass-appealing, rounded, and clean aroma.

Luna Rossa Carbon Performance

How Long Does Prada Luna Rossa Carbon Last?

Even though the performance is not “beast mode,” I enjoy it. It lasts eight hours on the skin with gentlemanly projection. The longevity always goes through a typical day at work, but it’s gone by the time I’m home at night.

I actually enjoy this because it allows you and me to switch scents if we want to.

In the first few hours, Carbon pushes out two to three feet for multiple hours before receding closer to the skin, never becoming a skin scent. I get this performance with four sprays.

I call this gentlemanly as it makes your presence known but doesn’t overwhelm anyone, no matter the situation.

Is Prada Luna Rossa Carbon For Everyday Use?

Speaking of situations, Carbon is ultra-versatile. It’s great for all seasons and occasions. In the winter, you’ll only have to apply one or two more sprays.

And occasions it’s sophisticated enough for formal occasions but also laid-back and subtle enough not to overwhelm anyone at the office or lecture hall.

Is Prada Luna Rossa Carbon Likeable?

Whenever Ambroxan is added to a fragrance, it instantly makes the scent an attention-grabber, and it’s no different here.

Carbon has great mass appeal because of the gentlemanly projection, but the scent profile is also likable. As for compliments, they’re great too.

Luna Rossa Carbon Clones and Other Concentrations

Luna Rossa Carbon is a flanker of the original Luna Rossa. The original has a similar DNA with fresh spices and aromatics. However, Luna Rossa EDT is more of a barbershop cologne.

Whereas Carbon is a blue fragrance. So, similar, but there are better alternatives.

Dior Sauvage EDT is the best Luna Rossa Carbon alternative.

However, Luna Rossa Carbon is technically the dupe of Dior Sauvage as it was released second. Both scents have a similar bergamot top note and an ambroxan base.

Is Luna Rossa Carbon worth It?

I love Luna Rossa Carbon. It retains the quality of Prada fragrances but gives it a modern and very-likable twist. T

he biggest question on your mind might be, “Is this a better choice than Dior Sauvage.” That’s up for debate and depends on who you ask.

If you like the Sauvage aroma and the attention it garners but want something different, Luna Rossa Carbon is the fragrance for you. Another plus side is that it’s slightly cheaper.

After you try Prada Luna Rossa Carbon, I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments.
