#6 – Dolce & Gabbana K EDP

How does Dolce and Gabbana’s take on blue fragrances go? It’s certainly more affordable than most.

As a whole, K EDP gives off a clean clothes vibe. The opening is a citrus combination of lemon and blood orange; lemon, in this case, dominates.

After a few moments, you pick up brisk aromatics that amplify the freshness. These notes linger into the base but are light in the opening.

The heart of K EDP has a special note; it is not every day you hear about a fig milk note. The fig is the most prevalent in the heart of fragrance but does not smell fruity or like a real fig.

It projects more of a sweet woodiness, though it is raw and very natural smelling. Accompanying fig are more fresh florals. Their herbal-type qualities only get more intense for the rest of the wear.

In the dry-down, most accords from the top and mid have lingered into the base. At this point, it is all about the woody and herbal qualities. With the addition of other woody notes, the base is warmer.

The freshness is present but is not amplified like the other two accords. It really shows how likable Dolce and Gabbana wanted this fragrance to be.

K EDP is quite versatile. It lacks the oomph for formal occasions and winter but does well in all other situations. It has enough longevity to get you through a workday and project to an elbow’s length for a couple of hours.

Like a true blue fragrance, it does attract loads of positive attention.

Dolce & Gabbana K EDP is one of the best Dolce & Gabbana colognes for men, but I can’t recommend it for full price. The smell is nothing out of this world, and it’s priced similarly to Bleu de Chanel EDT.

I have seen this at rack stores for a discount, which is the only time I would consider buying this.

#5 – Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue Eau Intense Pour Homme

Now, this is impressive. Dolce and Gabbana Light Blue Eau Intense is one of the best fragrances for men.

Yet, on this list, it ranks near last place. This isn’t a stab at this perfume but a sign of quality for all fragrances below. Light Blue Eau Intense is a flanker of the original.

Some minor tweaks have been made. But for the most part, it is just a stronger version.

Equal parts grapefruit and mandarin orange lead the opening. Neither jumps out at me, as they are both well-blended and work together to create a bright citric accord.

The grapefruit does a degree of coolness that comes off as very refreshing.

In the background are a fresh juniper nuance and salty aquatic undertone. Both are very fresh. The aquatic accord never comes off as oceanic. Heading into the mid, juniper gets more prominent, bringing musk with it.

Both carry into the dry down, and two things occur. Musk stays in the background adding to warm and deep amber wood.

This pair sits underneath a trio of lingering grapefruit, juniper, and aquatic accords. The rest of the wear is fresh atop a deeper warm base.

This is the fragrance you wear when you plan to be at the beach all day. It is exclusively a warm-weather fragrance. There are no Light Blue Intense dupes besides the original.

#4 – Dolce & Gabbana Pour Homme

Pour Homme was the first men’s fragrance released by Dolce and Gabbana in 1994, preceded by its female counterpart in 1992. Both took some fine-tuning to mature and evolve with the brand.

Years later, in 2012, Dolce & Gabbana decided to re-launch the pair to “return to the roots.”

This article will review the 2012 version, which is not only easier to buy but is also better.

The opening is led by a hefty dose of lavender. Supported by prevalent citruses, spices, and neroli with floral and citric nuances.

The most prominent spice is black pepper, with its attention-grabbing aroma. Yet, it’s never “nose-assaulting.”

Neroli keeps the entire fragrance light, blending with all notes. But most importantly, with lavender. This combination creates a soapy and clean quality.

For the first half an hour or so, the citruses and spices go back and forth while the scent retains this soapy nature.

After this period, the herbal and citrus accords dissipate, leaving room for a tobacco note to make its way in. It won’t come to dominate the scent but plays second fiddle to lavender.

The rest of the wear stays similar, fresh lavender and tobacco. In the dry down, there is an addition of a warm cedar base and slightly sweet tonka bean nuances sprinkled on top. It pairs perfectly with the tobacco note.

As a mature and masculine cologne, Pour Homme has an average performance. Much of its uniqueness comes from the sunny citrus opening.

I would not suggest Pour Homme as a blind buy, but the next time you can, get your nose on this.

#3 – Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue Forever Pour Homme

Suppose you want a summertime show-stopper. Dolce and Gabbana Light Blue Forever Pour Homme is an excellent choice. On top of this, it has impressive performance for a reasonable price.

The initial opening is a blast of grapefruit; it grabs attention and is realistic. All at once, the grapefruit projects zesty, sour, sweet, and tart tastes. It is far from your typical citrus opening, and I’m here for it.

The grapefruit carries for the rest of the wear.

In the base, there is an addition of violet leaf undertones. Violet leaf provides light floral touches but nothing too noticeable. Vetiver and clean woods dominate the base. Early on, the grapefruit lingers.

Eventually, it fades, leaving the scent with only woody accords. These notes are not too overpowering. Yet, they are stronger than Light Blue Eau Intense Pour Homme.

Light Blue Forever Pour Homme has above-average performance. It has the endurance to last an entire workday. Yet, it is exclusively for warmer temperatures and daytime.

#2 – Dolce & Gabbana The One Mysterious Night

From presentation to aroma Dolce and Gabbana The One Mysterious Night is high-quality, mature, and luxurious. It is an exclusive version but can still be commonly found on discounters.

The opening is strong and has a classic manly smell. Initially, your nose is hit with spice from saffron, powder from rose and musk, and undertones of sweet oud.

The opening emphasizes a rich and luxurious feel. If you know anything about saffron, you’ll know it’s costly.

As the opening develops, Mysterious Night becomes all about the oud. It is sweet and real, creating an animalic smell. If you don’t like real oud fragrances, this probably won’t be your cup of tea.

Into the base, Mysterious Night emphasizes amber. It is beautiful and sensual, overpowering all other accords. Supporting the amber are wafts of smokiness and lingering oud and rose.

Not only is the dry-down sexy, but oud is well-balanced and never gets too animalic.

Mysterious Night is one of a kind and can endure the whole day. Though its uniqueness is a blessing and a curse, it is only meant for formal occasions and can be quite decisive. At least no one else will smell like you at the party.

As for when to wear, it is strong, so only nighttime and colder temperatures. Mysterious Night is a phenomenal cologne but not a blind-buy fragrance. Also, note that if you expect it to smell like the original The One, it does not.

#1 – Dolce & Gabbana The One EDP

You might actually hurt yourself when wearing Dolce & Gabbana EDP. The first time I wore it, I sprayed it on my neck. It smelt so good that I kept turning my head to get a sniff.

By the end of the day, my neck was sore and nearly strained. This experience speaks to the quality of the scent. And why it is claimed as one of the sexiest colognes for men.

The opening is a fleeting citrus hit but is quickly overpowered by a tidal wave of warm spices. For the first two hours, spices dominate. Nuances of amber and tobacco are peaking in from the base but aren’t prevalent.

After two hours, the dry-down starts and is the best part of the fragrance. At this point, you’ll understand why it’s a sexy fragrance.

The spices tone down, and amber and tobacco are in equal parts. There is some sweetness, but it is primarily warm and inviting. This trio dominates for the rest of wear and is why Dolce and Gabbana The One EDP is so popular.

The performance is not great, but it’s incredibly wearable. On a date, you don’t want a fragrance to be announced. It should be discovered. Allow her to get faint whiffs of the sexy smell and want to come closer.

I recommend Dolce and Gabbana The One EDP as a must-have fragrance. It is a masculine cologne that you can’t go wrong with.

My Experience With the Best Dolce & Gabbana Colognes for Men

All of the above information is my experience with the best Dolce & Gabbana colognes for men.

However, I keep it as objective as possible. This way, you can objectively decide if this is a fragrance you want to purchase or if you’re comparing a few fragrances. Thus, this section is my subjective opinion.

Dolce & Gabbana is similar to Versace in creating high-quality fragrances that are often discounted. The biggest downfall that comes from the brand is just okay performance.

Not all fragrances should be “beast mode,” but many have average performance.

In short, I like Dolce & Gabbana fragrances, but I’m not in love with them. There are not enough fragrances in their collection that are ground-breaking. Sure a few popular ones, but nothing special.

How to Pick the Best Dolce & Gabbana Cologne for You

Start with price. No matter the fragrance, pay only what you feel comfortable with. There are plenty of other fragrances to choose from.

Once you know your price range and when you want to wear it, you should have a small list.

If you still have a few choices left, compare the prominent accords of your prospective fragrances with prominent accords of fragrances you’ve enjoyed in the past.
