The One Intense.
A more intense version of one of the best fragrances for men.
Dolce & Gabbana The One Intense was released in 2020. It is based on spices, woods, and amber. It lasts six to eight hours on the skin with average projection. In this review, I will describe its smell and performance and if it’s worth it.

What Does Dolce & Gabbana The One Intense Smell Like?
I won’t make too many comparisons to the original EDP because it will get confusing. However, quickly this is a fresher, less zingy version. The opening is a mix of spice with wood and florals. The first smell is mostly cypress. It has a green touch and pairs well with cardamom’s subtle spiciness.
Laying in the background is a fresh Neroli leather and resin nuances. The resins don’t add much, but they will later in the wear.
As the scent progresses, cypresses’ dominance starts to fade. Cardamom and Neroli begin to shine, though Neroli is funny. It jumps to the forefront and then disappears into the background somewhat quickly.
At this point, it is a fresh, spicy cologne with darker and heavy qualities in the background. I can’t pin it down exactly, but it’s earthy, resinous, and woody simultaneously.
Leather in the dry down soothes the background. Stopping it from ever getting too dirty or otherwise off-putting. This leads to the scent for the rest of the wear, a resinous-ambery cardamom resting on a wood and leather duo.

Performance
The performance is nothing spectacular. It lasts six to eight hours on the skin with moderate to intimate projection. As the name suggests, it is more intense but not necessarily a better performer than the original EDP version.
The versatility is similar as well. It is excellent for the fall, winter, and early spring. It isn’t a sweet fragrance, so it doesn’t get cloying. Yet, the depth of the notes can become overwhelming. As for the occasions, it is all. It is sophisticated and a pleasant performer that’ll never become too much.
Lastly, mass appeal and likability are decent. This isn’t an attention magnet, but it is an alluring aroma. For the same reasons above, it is sophisticated and a subtle performer.
Final Words
A 100mL bottle is slightly more expensive than the original.
You probably have a few lingering questions, Is D&G The One EDP Intense worth it? Is it redundant or better to own this version than the original EDP?
The One EDP Intense is not worth it. This is solely because the original EDP version is better. They have differing accords. However, they’re still both winter focused. The performance is about the same, and the original EDP version is cheaper.
In my mind, this is an easy choice. Get the original EDP version.
The One Intense is an excellent scent and a great winter cologne. Yet, don’t just limit yourself to The One Intense. Check out the best winter colognes. All are just as good in the depths of winter; you might just find your signature scent.
