Versace Man Eau Fraiche

Versace Man Eau Fraiche review – Do You Need It?

Man Eau Fraiche.

One of the best Versace fragrances for men.

Versace Man Eau Fraiche was released in 2006. It is based on citruses, aromatics, and woods. It lasts six hours on the skin with average projection. In this review, I will describe its smell and performance and if it’s worth it.

What Does Versace Man Eau Fraiche Smell Like?

A trio of lemon, bergamot, and grapefruit lead the opening. They sit atop a slightly aquatic background, but the main emphasis is on loud, fresh citruses. Immediately upon the first spray, lemon is the star of the show, and all other notes support it.

The first 45 minutes is all about the citruses. After this period, Eau Fraiche gains a considerable amount of herbal spices. Black pepper is listed as a mid-note, but this spice never comes across as assaulting or like you want to sneeze. Instead, it delivers the same amount of energy but in a unique way.

The citruses fade even more in the dry down. At this point, it is all about the woody base. It is a simple cedar note, nothing to write home about. Once the scent hits this stage, it slowly loses strength and withers away to a skin scent.

Performance

Man Eau Fraiche lasts six hours on the skin with average projection. It pushes out multiple feet before receding. The scent trail could be better. With the lighter notes in the fragrance, it doesn’t have the depth to last in the cold air. This performance is with three sprays.

This is late spring and summer wear. Like the projection, the fragrance doesn’t have much depth to push out, especially in colder weather. You’ll get a solid four months of wear in a four-season climate.

As for occasions, it is best suited for casual situations. There’s nothing about this fragrance that sticks out and shines for formal occasions and dates. I can see this as a great office fragrance as it is fresh, likable, and subtle.

Speaking of likability, Man Eau Fraiche is loved by many. It is a simple and subtle aroma that not many people find decisive. Not a show-stopper, but at least it’s mass-appealing.

Clones

The most similar fragrance is Antonio Banderas Blue Seduction. The biggest difference is that it has a marine and aquatic accord. Both are ultra-fresh and aromatic, and that’s the biggest similarity. Blue Seduction is also significantly cheaper, only about $20 for a 100mL bottle.

Final Words

Versace Man Eau Fraiche is worth it, but there are better choices. It is average in performance and has a decent aroma, but Versace Pour Homme is about the same price and better than everything else. It is also slightly more versatile.

In short, not a bad buy but there are better options.

If you try Versace Man Eau Fraiche, I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments.
