Pineapple Vintage Intense Review – Do You Need It?

Pineapple Vintage Intense.

A Creed Aventus clone.

Pineapple Vintage Intense was released in 2017. It is based on fruits with hints of leather. It lasts seven to eight hours on the skin with above-average projection. In this review, I will describe its smell and performance and if it’s worth it.

What Does Pineapple Vintage Intense Smell Like?

A pineapple and bergamot combination leads the opening. Pineapple is by far the more dominant note – as you’d expect from the name. It is juicy, sweet, and fruity, like the opening of Aventus. You know when you eat a pineapple, it has a tart, juicy sweetness? That is the same idea here.

Bergamot plays second fiddle in the background. It is citric and bright, but its main job is to amplify the pineapple note. This duo is the only two notes in the opening. Their intensity will wash over the mid and head right into the dry down.

The top notes take the backseat once the woodier and more masculine base notes come through. A subtle mix of smoke and birch led the dry down. They pair with lighter patchouli, vanilla, and fresh accents. This is what you’ll smell for the rest of the wear.

Performance

Pineapple Vintage Intense last 7 – 8 hours on the skin with moderate projection. In the first few hours, the projection is decent but, over time, recedes closer to the skin, never becoming a skin scent. I get this performance with 3 – 5 sprays. Depending on the situation, I moderate how heavily I apply.

This is great in the spring, summer, and early fall. In cold temperatures, the scent profile doesn’t fit the time of the year. Two, it becomes too weak and quickly dissipates off the skin. If you live in a four-season climate, you’ll get a solid six to seven months of wear out of this.

As for occasions, it is all. This part is the most similar to Aventus. It has a casual aroma and projection that works well in close-quarter settings like the office or lecture hall. Still, the scent profile is blended well enough to work for formal occasions and dates.

Lastly, mass appeal and likability. This is not the best attention-grabber. The opening is great because it’s a lot like Aventus. However, the base is decisive. There is an odd blend of notes that is not done as well as Aventus. If you want a fragrance for compliments, there are better choices.

Final Words

It’s no secret that Pineapple Vintage Intense is a Creed Aventus clone. But is it worth it? No. A 100mL costs $85. Considered to the other Aventus clones, it is considerably expensive for the same quality. I don’t see a reason to purchase this fragrance unless it’s as an Aventus clone; in that case, there are better choices.
