Sauvage Elixir.
A unique twist on the Sauvage DNA.
Dior Sauvage Elixir was released in 2021. It is based on spices, woods, and lavender. It lasts 12+ hours on the skin with excellent projection.
In this review, I will describe its smell and performance and if it’s worth it.

What Does Dior Sauvage Elixir Smell Like?
Upon the first spray, the spices spare no time. Cardamom and nutmeg are prominent from the start. Cinnamon is noticeable in the background but a “third place” note.
The first few minutes have tinges of grapefruit floating around. Yet, the warm spices overpower them after a few minutes.
The fresh, warm spices will lead into the mid.
15-20 minutes into the wear, the fragrance picks up the old-school aroma it’s known for. A hefty dose of rich and classic lavender adds. It is aromatic and masculine. It is like a barbershop cologne lavender.
Warm spices and aromatic lavender will lead to the dry down. They will meet a warm, woody base. As the scent progresses, the wood notes get more intense. It is all about sandalwood with nuances of patchouli. T
he rest of the wear is spices, lavender, and wood.

Sauvage Elixir Performance
How Long Lasting Is Sauvage Elixir?
Sauvage Elixir lasts 12+ hours on the skin with excellent projection. A large portion of the wear will fill a room. It begins to recede after six or seven hours but still retains an arm’s length projection.
The sillage is even better. This leaves a LONG scent trail. The more you move around, the better this smells and the more it pushes out. This performance is with only two sprays.
Is Sauvage Elixir Versatile?
This is fall, winter, and early spring wear. But only use one spray in the warmth of the spring. A significant amount of heat on this fragrance, and it’s insane. The original Sauvage gets intense with heat; this is 3x more intense.
As for the occasions, it is all. You may think a loud projector like this is too much for the office and other close-quarter settings.
That’s partially true, but Dior has done such a great job blending the notes that it is never overwhelming, even though it’s intense.
Does Sauvage Elixir Get Compliments?
Lastly, mass appeal and compliments are excellent. This comes mainly from the quality and unique blend of notes while retaining enough of the Sauvage allure.
Dior Sauvage Elixir Clones
The best Sauvage Elixir dupe is Lattafa Asad. This is one of the best and most accurate clones of all time.
Usually, I compare the original and clones because they differ slightly, but with these two, I can only smell the difference when they’re side by side.
Final Words
Dior Sauvage Elixir is worth it, and I’d argue a must-have, hence, why it’s so expensive, as Dior understands its value over the rest of the line.
This is worth it for a few reasons; the most obvious is you’ll never have to worry about lack of performance.
I also enjoy its uniqueness. This deviates the most from the Sauvage line. It has its own aroma but retains enough of the quality Sauvage development and notes I love.
If you own one of the other three Sauvages, it isn’t redundant to own the Elixir version. I recommend owning both the EDP and Elixir versions in my complete Sauvage line review.
The loud projection can sometimes make it harder to wear, but this isn’t necessarily a red flag, just an inconvenience. Other than this, I can’t find a con about Sauvage Elixir.
Lastly, the lavender and scent profile is old-school, but that doesn’t make it unwearable by younger guys. I’m in my 20s, and this is not too mature or old-school for me.
However, out of the entire line, this is the best for older gentlemen.
Dior Sauvage Elixir is an excellent cologne and one of the best from the brand. Yet, don’t just limit yourself to Sauvage Elixir. Check out the best Dior colognes for men.
