What Does Gentleman Reserve Privee EDP Smell Like?
The first spray smells as the bottle looks. A strong whiskey note leads the opening and is never loud or aggressive. The scent profile lists bergamot, but I don’t catch any wafts here.
The whiskey’s strength and depth are likely too strong for the lighter citruses to push through.
Within a few minutes, Iris becomes present and takes over the scent. It has a powdery accord similar to Prada L’Homme. The whiskey note is still present but significantly weakened. The pair work in unison.
Iris and whiskey dominate for the heart of wear. Smooth amber and woody notes take over the scent in the dry down.
This duo is just as it sounds. Woody depth of quality notes, smoothed out by warm amber. Iris and whiskey notes linger in the background, breaking up the amber and woods.
The one thing I didn’t smell was the chestnut. There is no nuttiness to this fragrance.
